Poland reduces PGNiG’s gas prices for companies by about 5.1%

Poland's energy market regulator URE declared on Friday it has decided to reduce leading gas distributor PGNiG's tariffs of high-methane gas for commercial end consumers by 5.1 percent and for wholesale users by 4.7 percent.

UK government sets out new rules for shale gas fracking in protected areas

The UK government has unveiled areas to be excluded from underground fracking activities, while a DECC’S new draft regulations has identified certain areas including national parks, areas of outstanding national beauty, the broads and world heritage sites, where hydraulic fracking will be permitted only below 1,200m, to preserve groundwater. Drinking water is not normally found below 400m.
