Bulgaria to build another nuclear power plant

Bulgaria's Government has approved the report presented by the Energy Minister Dragomir Stoynev, regarding the need to build a new unit at the country's only nuclear power plant, Kozloduy NPP. The Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) intends to negotiate with US energy giant Westinghouse, which is to build the reactor with its technology.

Power from the Hinkley C nuclear generator could be too expensive

Jim Ratcliffe, the boss of one of the UK's biggest energy consumers, the chemical company Ineos, which owns the Grangemouth oil refinery in Scotland has warned that nuclear power from the Hinkley C generator, will be too costly in comparison to energy from elsewhere.

France pledges to restrict EDF utility hikes in 2015-18

France wants to restrict state-controlled utility EDF's regulated electricity tariff increases between 2% and 3% per year or less per year over the period 2015-2018, which would see a new calculation method to take effect, said an official source in the Elysée Palace.
