Norwegian oil giant Statoil announced that it had to halt its production on the Njord platform on Sunday as a result of operational problems with gaskets in a gas export compressor. Later, a gas leak was discovered in one of the risers.

Cnooc and Total sign Agreements to buy stakes in Tullow’s Ugandan assets

Anglo-Irish energy firm Tullow Oil declared on Wednesday that it has agreed to sell part of its Uganda assets to France's Total and China's CNOOC for an amount of USD 2.9 billion.
