U.S. crude oil futures were almost steady on Monday, near the two-week high registered last week as American financial markets were closed due to the Memorial Day holiday. By 23:01 GMT, NYMEX crude for July delivery rose 2 cents at $100.61 a barrel. The contract settled at $100.59 a barrel on Friday, up 36 cents.

Crude oil futures decreased on Monday as worries about the debt crises in the euro zone raised the dollar to a two-month high level against the euro, spreading risk aversion across markets. U.S. crude for July delivery traded at 97.70 dollars a barrel, down 2.40 dollars, while ICE Brent for July delivery settled at 110.10 dollars a barrel, down 2.29 dollars, after a trading range between 108.58 and 112.23 dollars.
