EIB grants Welsh Water £250 million for green energy

Welsh Water obtained a £250 million loan from the European Investment Bank for renewable energy. The loan is expected to help raise the percentage of power generated from green sources such as wind, sun, water and anaerobic digestion (AD) from 20% to 30% by next year.

Germany produced record 35% of electricity from green energy in the 1st half of 2017

Germany’s electricity from renewable sources accounted for 35 percent in the first half of 2017, or an increase of 6% compared with the same period last year, according to the BEE renewable energy association.
