Oil prices plummeted on Monday, weighed by declining demand for black gold amid the coronavirus pandemic and the backdrop of the agreement on crude production between OPEC+ members. Brent oil tumbled by 6.8% to $68.62 a barrel and WTI crude lost 7.5% at $66.42 a barrel.

Oil prices traded range-bound on Friday amid persisting uncertainty over next month’s crude production from OPEC+ members. Brent oil and WTI crude both edged 0.2% higher at $73.59 and $71.81 a barrel respectively.

Crude oil prices continued to fall on Thursday on expectation for an increase in supply after Reuters reported that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had reached a compromise deal. Moreover, U.S. fuel stocks rose, providing additional pressure to prices. As such, Brent crude fell by 1.7% to settle at $73.47 a barrel. The American WTI shed by 2% to end at 71.65 p/therm.

Crude oil prices ended lower on Wednesday, following reports of weaker demand and prospects of increased black gold supply from OPEC+ members. Losses, however, were limited by a further drop in US crude reserves. Brent oil fell by 2.3% to $74.76 a barrel and WTI oil declined by 2.8% to $73.13 a barrel.

U.S. crude oil stockpiles fell for the eighth straight week last week, as renewed vigor in the U.S. economy continues to drive higher fuel demand, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.
