The Spain-based company Gamesa, will triple its investment in China in the next 2-3 years, to expand its facilities in the country. The Spanish company already invested around 42 million Euro in 2009 and plans to invest a further 90 million by 2012, to meet the rising demand of China’s growing wind energy industry.

Iberdrola Renovables, in a consortium with local energy company Neoenergia, won the tender for the construction of 9 new wind farms in Brazil. The tender for the projects was called by Brazil’s electricity industry authority, Agencia Nacional de Energía Elétrica (ANEEL).The complete tender was for 50 wind farms (1,520 MW), five hydroelectric plants (101 MW) and a biomass facility (64 MW).
