Total EP Norge AS, operator of production license 535,along with its partners Rocksource, Det Norske and North Energy has announced a gas discovery on the Norvarg prospect in the Barents Sea. This is Norway’s second large gas discovery in the area this year.

ABB won 1 billion dollars order
A leading power and automation technology group, ABB, will receive around 1 billion dollars from the TenneT, a Dutch-German transmission grid operator to furnish a power grid that will connect the North Sea wind farms to the German main grid that will have a total transmission capacity of over 900 MW.

Total and Eni Q2 profits hit by weaker US dollar and Lybian disruptions
The French and Italian oil giants, Total SA and Eni SpA reported on Friday lower quaterly earnings, despite higher prices for oil, blaming unfavourable exchange rates, a dollar weakness and production losses following war disruptions in Libya which closed some oil fields.

Russia files a lawsuit against Bulgaria over delayed nuclear plant
Russia filed a lawsuit against Bulgaria’s National Electric Company (NEK) in order to accelerate the construction of the Belene nuclear power plant, the first in the EU that is totally dependent on Russian technology.
