U.S. crude oil futures pared gains in the post-settlement trading on Tuesday after industry data indicated a huge drop in domestic crude inventories last week. By 20:35 GMT, U.S. crude for August delivery settled at 98.05 dollars a barrel, up 2.12 dollars.

UK energy drilling declines to a nine-year low
Energy companies operating in the UK North Sea, drilled 50 % fewer wells compared with April to June of 2010, mainly due to tax increases, reaching the lowest level in the second quarter since nine years, according to the industry figures.

China to boost its wind power industry to 30 GW by 2020
China plans to increase its installed offshore wind power capacity to 5 GW by 2015 and to 30 GW by 2020, according to news agency Xinhua, citing National Energy Administration. China seeks to complete a public tender for the second half of the 2012, which will take place in the first half of 2012.
