SunPower overhauls its 2011 fiscal balance sheet

SunPower overhauled its 2011 fiscal balance sheet considering non-GAAP, registering from 2.40 to 2.45 billion dollars total income, a gross margin of 12% to 14% and capital expenditures of 125 to 135 million dollars. Moreover, due to the restructuring program inside the company, for assuring a better future for the company, a pre-tax charge of about 10 million dollars could occur, even if it is not considered in the current 2011 GAAP guidance.

Largest Biomass Gasification plant to be built in Finland

Finland announced the construction of the largest biomass gasification plant with a total capacity of 140 MW running mainly on forest residues for fuel. It will be situated next to a coal fired power plant and is planned to be operational by end of 2012.

EU Commission to award 12.5 billion dollars for transmission systems

As to reach its targets of generating 20% of green power of the total electricity demand, the European Commission released its energy infrastructure plan worth 9.1 billion Euros (12.5 billion dollars) as to modernized its transmission systems for its smart grid (installing new pipelines and power grids) and for the renewable energy applications for the period 2014-2020.
