U.S on the right way to meet its 2020 carbon emissions target
The U.S. has hit an important milestone in the reduction of GHG emissions. The U.S. State Department has announced recently that the U.S. is on the right way to reduce its emissions of greenhouse gases by 17% by 2020 if it endorses the proposed rules to cut pollution from power plants and curbs methane leaks.

UK: Electricity generation from renewable sources increased considerably
Within the UK, the total contribution of renewable electricity has grown by an amazing 52% in the last 5 years, driven significantly by a huge expansion in wind energy. According to the latest figures from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), wind and solar PV electricity production increased by about 30%.

UK: renewable production up 19% last year
According to figures published by the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change, electricity produced from renewable energy sources increased 19% last year in comparison to 2011 levels, representing about 11% of all electricity generated in UK, in comparison to a year before when it accounted 9.4%. Meanwhile, consumption of fossil fuels decreased if compared to 2011 levels.

UK launched 25 billion fund for the construction of new biofuel plants
The Department for transport will present a fund of 25 million pounds which will be offered following a demonstration of the use of municipal waste and forestry residues or other advanced biofuel sources to produce fuels, helping UK to shift from fossil fuels as petrol and diesel.
