Lobby urges EU to make joint gas buying platform transparent

In the EC’s latest state of the energy union report released on Wednesday, it said a total of 75bcm of gas had been “matched” between 2023 and 2024 on the so-called AggregateEU platform, which was introduced in 2022 as an emergency measure to ensure security of gas and LNG supply and rein in competition and price spikes.

Italy’s 1st agrivoltaic auction oversubscribed on “generous” aid

TotalEnergies completes purchase of UK 1.3 GW gas plant

French energy major TotalEnergies has completed its GBP 450m acquisition of UK power producer West Burton Energy – which runs a 1.3 GW gas-fired power plant – from investment firm EIG, West Burton Energy said on Friday.
