Lobby urges EU to make joint gas buying platform transparent
In the EC’s latest state of the energy union report released on Wednesday, it said a total of 75bcm of gas had been “matched” between 2023 and 2024 on the so-called AggregateEU platform, which was introduced in 2022 as an emergency measure to ensure security of gas and LNG supply and rein in competition and price spikes.

Daily (13.09.2024): Gas prices plummeted on Thursday due to limited impact from Hurricane Francine on LNG exports
Oil prices rose by around 2% on Thursday, supported by operational disruptions to offshore oil production platforms in the US Gulf of Mexico. Hence, Brent crude closed at $71.97 per barrel, while WTI crude settled at $68.97 per barrel.
