Crude oil prices strengthened on Tuesday, on the back of prospects for activity and travel resumption in several European countries, particularly France and Italy. As such, Brent oil increased by 2% to $68.88 a barrel and WTI crude rose by 1.9% to $65.69 a barrel.

Crude oil prices started the week on a front foot, as strong economic figures from China and a rapid coronavirus vaccination pace in the US overshadowed the concerns over increasing virus figures in India. Hence, Brent crude added 0.55 to settle at $67.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude increased by 1.4% to close at $64.69 a barrel.
