Crude oil prices fell sharply on Monday to hit their lowest levels in two weeks amid ongoing negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, as well as pandemic-linked travel ban in China. Hence, Brent crude dropped by 5% to settle at $106.90 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude shed by 5.8% to close at $103.01 a barrel.

Crude oil prices strengthened on Friday, as brokers secured positions in a market still buoyed by fears of global supply disruptions due to the war between Russia and Ukraine. As a result, Brent oil and WTI crude both soared by 3.1% to $112.67 a barrel and $109.33 a barrel, respectively.
