Croatia will double the capacity of Krk LNG terminal to 6.1 bcm/year
Croatia will expand its existing floating LNG terminal on the Krk Island, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković announced at the Three Seas Initiative in Riga on Monday. Croatia could play a more regional gas supply role.

German gas import costs surge 153% in first half as imports drop 24%
German natural gas import costs rose by 153% in the first six months of 2022 from a year earlier, even though imports were down by 24.3%, official data showed on Thursday.

Germany slashes VAT on natural gas to 7% to offset impact of new levy

Daily (18.08.2022): European carbon market soared to six-month high on Wednesday amid limited auction supply and rallying related markets
Crude oil prices rebounded on Wednesday as concerns over rising Russian output and exports as well as recession fears were outweighed by a steeper-than-expected drawdown in U.S. crude stocks. Hence, Brent crude rose by $1.31, or 1.4%, to settle at $93.65 per barrel. U.S. WTI crude increased by $1.58, or 1.8%, to close at $88.11 per barrel.

Czech government to cap housing, energy costs at 30% of income
The Czech government will hand out state aid to ensure people do not spend more than 30% of their income on housing including energy amid soaring gas and electricity prices, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Wednesday.
