Qair to supply green energy to Safran plants in Poland
The Polish unit of French renewable energy producer Qair said it has signed a 12-year agreement to supply nearly 20 GWh of green energy per year to the Polish production facilities of French aircraft components maker Safran
The corporate power purchase agreement (cPPA) covers supply from Qair's wind farm in Stawiszyn, the central Wielkopolska province, and the photovoltaic (PV) farm in Stoszowice, the southeast Lower Silesia province. The expected volume for the entire contract term surpasses 233 GWh, Qair said on Tuesday.
Thanks to the cooperation, Safran's three Polish production plants will be 85% powered by renewable energy, which is in line with its ambitious decarbonisation strategy. At the same time, it gets stable energy prices, which increases its resilience to market fluctuations, Qair added.
The contract signed with Safran is in line with Qair Polska's long-term strategy of building a green utility company that provides energy from its own renewable energy sources, Qair Polska CEO Krzysztof Wojtysiak said at the signing of the agreement.
