Neoen bags 164 MWp of awards in French solar tender
French renewable power producer Neoen SA has secured projects with a combined capacity of 164 MWp in France’s latest tender for ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) capacity.
Neoen was successful in the round with seven solar PV and agrivoltaic schemes, the Paris-based company confirmed on Thursday and said the awards have lifted its secured capacity in France to over 2.5 GW.
The winning schemes will be installed in the regions of Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie. Four of them involve the construction of PV arrays at sites combining both clean power generation adn agricultural activities.
Six of the seven solar plants will be commissioned gradually between 2026 and 2029. The last one, the 73-MWp Tourneuve, is expected to go online in 2032 as it will await the completion of a grid upgrade undertaken by the local grid operator.
Last week, the French government’s Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) awarded 948.3 MWp in the sixth tender for ground-mounted PV installations, against a target of 925 MWp.
