Vestas signs 50-MW wind turbine supply contract in S Korea

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S announced today that it has signed a 50-MW supply contract in South Korea, paired with a 20-year services agreement.
The deal encompasses eight of the company’s V162-6.2 MW machines. The delivery is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2025, while the wind farm is expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2026, a press statement says.
The customer and the name of the project remained undisclosed. The contract is part of the Danish firm’s fourth-quarter order intake.
Vestas has installed more than 185 GW of wind turbines across 88 countries.
In June, it disclosed a 90-MW order for an onshore project in South Korea, which followed a 77-MW contract signed during the first quarter of the year.
