Sany's 15MW onshore turbine powers up

Sany Renewable Energy’s independently designed SI-270150, the world’s largest 15MW onshore wind turbine, has successfully achieved operation at rated power.
As a flagship product in the 12.X–16.X MW onshore and offshore platform, the SI-270150 boasts a rotor diameter of 270 metres and a lifespan of 25–30 years.
Engineered for medium- to high-wind-speed scenarios, it is capable of generating up to 56 million kWh of electricity annually, assuming an average wind speed of 9 metres per second.
With the grid connection and rated power operation reached, the 15MW turbine will now undergo over a year of operational testing at the trial wind farm.
This process will include nearly 2,000 performance tests to thoroughly verify the reliability of its components and overall design under real-world conditions.
Simultaneously, a prototype of the same model will undergo testing on Sany Renewable Energy's 35MW Six Degrees of Freedom & Drivetrain Back-to-Back Test Bench, the largest of its kind globally.
Over 18 months of accelerated lifespan aging tests, the turbine and its components will undergo extreme validation equivalent to 30 years of wind farm operation, pushing the boundaries of technology and physical limits.
