RPC acquires a 1.9-GW renewable energy portfolio in Sweden and Finland.

Renewable Power Capital (RPC), a European renewables platform based in London, announced today that it has acquired the Swedish and Finnish onshore wind and solar development business from Norwegian company Njordr AS.

Njordr, the Nordic renewable energy subsidiary of Vanir Green Industries AS (VGI), has sold RPC a portfolio of up to 1.9 GW that includes 22 early-stage onshore wind and solar projects. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

This acquisition is expected to strengthen RPC's market presence and involves incorporating Njordr’s project developers into the UK platform.

"The Nordics have been a key focus area for RPC since we started. We are excited to gain Njordr's expertise as we move forward with developing essential infrastructure in the region," stated Cordelia Forth, head of development at RPC.

RPC specializes in the development, construction, and collaboration on wind, solar, and energy storage projects. Backed by CPP Investments, the company recently revealed its plans for its first energy storage project, a 50-MW/100-MWh facility in Finland, which will utilize Sungrow batteries.
