Enlight plans to invest $1.1 billion in a solar-powered data center in Israel.

Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd, an Israeli renewable energy developer, intends to invest as much as USD 1.1 billion (EUR 1.02 billion) in a combined data centre and renewable energy facility in Ashalim, located in southern Israel. This follows the company's success in securing the nation's first land tender for a project of this nature in the area.
The firm has acquired a 50-acre plot where, according to the rules set by the Israel Land Authority (ILA), it will construct a facility that includes a data centre, a solar power generation plant, and an energy storage system. This facility is expected to have a capacity for 100 MW of hourly consumption.
The solar power and energy storage components will be established next to the data centre. They will help meet some of the facility's electricity needs and will lower operational expenses.
Founded in 2008, Enlight focuses on developing large-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects. The company operates in the United States, Israel, and ten European nations.
