Greek renewable energy firm Terna Energy, a subsidiary of the Emirati state-owned company Masdar, announced on Thursday that it is constructing a 130 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Bulgaria.
The initiative involves setting up the PV station along with the necessary grid connection infrastructure, including a new 33/110 kV substation, as stated in a press release by Terna Energy.
Situated in the Vratitsa district of the Burgas coastal area, the facility is anticipated to be linked to the national grid by the end of 2026.
This project is part of Terna Energy's strategic partnership with the Greek holding group GEK Terna. The construction work is being conducted by GEK Terna's construction subsidiary, Terna.
In Bulgaria, Terna Energy already has two wind farms that collectively have an installed capacity of 30 MW.
