Valorem signs a co-development agreement for a 16.4 MW agrivoltaic project.

French independent green energy operator Valorem has partnered with fellow company SEM Saone-et-Loire Energies Renouvelables (SEM SELER) to collaboratively develop and run a 16.4-MWp agrivoltaic park in the Saone-et-Loire department of eastern France.

SEM SELER will hold a 20% stake in the project vehicle, as announced by Valorem on Thursday.

The photovoltaic (PV) installation will be situated in the commune of Saint-Leger-Les-Paray and will integrate solar energy generation with sheep grazing. Currently, the designated areas are utilized for wood energy production and crop harvesting. The solar panels will be installed on mobile frameworks and are expected to generate approximately 24 GWh annually, which corresponds to the electricity requirements of the Grand Charolais commune.

The project’s construction application is now under consideration, with a public inquiry anticipated in the upcoming months. SEM SELER will be involved in the development efforts by helping to communicate with local stakeholders.
