Qair has finalized a lease agreement for a 51-MW solar project located in northern France.

French independent renewable energy producer Qair announced on Thursday that it has entered into a long-term lease agreement to facilitate the construction of a 51.2-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France.

The agreement was finalized with the Saint-Quentin Agglomeration Community and SEM Energies Hauts-de-France, an organization that promotes the deployment of renewable energy in the region, after Qair was selected in a 2023 Call for Expressions of Interest.

Having conducted environmental, technical, and agricultural assessments related to the project, Qair has submitted a building permit application for early 2025. The company stated that it is currently working on arranging the future grid connection for the plant and preparing the site for construction.

The planned solar farm is expected to produce approximately 56.5 GWh of electricity per year, which will aid in reducing about 13,450 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
