ERG and Amazon have signed a Power Purchase Agreement for wind energy in Northern Ireland.
ERG Group has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Amazon to supply renewable energy from its 47MW Corlacky wind farm located in Northern Ireland.
The wind farm's construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of this year, with commercial operations set to commence thereafter.
Upon completion, the facility will feature 11 Vestas V117 turbines, each with a power output of 4.3MW, resulting in a total capacity of 47.3MW and an estimated annual production of approximately 176GWh when fully operational.
This amount is sufficient to satisfy the energy needs of over 55,000 households in the UK, according to ERG.
Paolo Merli, CEO of ERG, stated: “This significant agreement with a leading global corporation underscores ERG's position in the PPA market, which is crucial for securing revenue stability amidst volatile pricing conditions.
“With this new agreement, the total energy secured by the Group through PPAs rises to more than 3TWh annually.”
