Qair obtains approval for a 50MW solar project in the UK.
Qair has obtained planning authorization for a 50MW solar project in Buckinghamshire, UK.
The Straws Hadley Solar Farm, located in Aylesbury, had its application supported by TEP, which was submitted to Buckinghamshire Council.
Spanning approximately 56 hectares, the solar farm initiative will also incorporate biodiversity net gain as outlined in a Biodiversity Gain Plan, with an estimated increase of at least 65% in habitat and 12% in hedges after development.
This enhancement will involve planting trees on the site to boost its ecological significance and create more protective zones for wildlife.
“The Straws Hadley project represents our third solar initiative to receive planning approval this year, alongside Lark Hill in Rochford and Washdyke Farm in Folkingham.
“Obtaining planning permission is not merely a milestone – it lays the groundwork for constructing a brighter and more sustainable future, while also aiding Qair in achieving our objective of becoming a premier Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the UK,” stated Sam Burgess, project manager at Qair UK.
“I'm ecstatic for both myself and the team.”
In August, Qair revealed the acquisition of a significant majority stake in Green Switch Capital (GSC), a UK-based renewable energy developer.
GSC's pipeline, exceeding 15GW, with its initial projects set to commence in 2026, will enhance Qair's current portfolio in the UK, which already includes offshore wind, energy from waste, and onshore renewable initiatives.
