OX2 secures Swedish wind energy project

OX2 has purchased the Bursjöliden wind farm located in northern Sweden from RWE.

The project is situated in the Ornskoldsvik municipality within the price area SE2.

It will consist of 11 wind turbines and is expected to generate approximately 200GWh of electricity annually.

The environmental permit is approved, and the permit for the grid connection has been secured.

Construction of the wind farm is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2025, with plans for it to be fully operational by the end of 2027.

There are also plans for a battery.

"Bursjöliden is a very exciting project where we plan to combine both wind power and a battery storage system.

It is also one of our first projects in Sweden where we will not only act as the asset manager but will also be long-term owners.

We would like to extend our gratitude to RWE for the trust they have placed in us by allowing us to advance this project," said Anders Nilsson, head of onshore wind at OX2 Sweden.

Bursjöliden marks the second project that OX2 has acquired from RWE.

The first project, Riberget, is currently under construction and is expected to be fully operational by the summer of 2025.
