The German government said on Monday that it wants to set up a new power line network to connect its own offshore wind parks with those of its North Sea neighbours in order to eliminate bottlenecks in the European energy market. Oil prices rose on Friday due to the prospect of lower Russian exports which counterbalanced rising US stocks. Consequently, Brent crude increased by 1.1% to $83.16 a barrel and WTI oil ended 1.2% higher at $76.32 a barrel.
