Daily (15.06.2023): Oil prices fell on Wednesday amid FED decision, weak macroeconomic data from China

On Wednesday, crude oil prices inched lower as a result of Fed’s decision to leave unchanged interest rate. Furthermore, higher supply from Russia and weak macroeconomic data from China has contributed to the overall downward trend in oil prices. Hence, Brent crude dropped by 1.5% to settle at $73.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude traded at $68.27 a barrel, declining by about 1.7% day-on-day.

Romania's OMV Petrom hails largest oil find in decades

Romania's OMV Petrom said it has made a series of oil and gas discoveries in southern Romania including its largest crude find "in decades". The discoveries could help the firm reduce the decline in its upstream production and increase the intake of domestic crude at its 85,000 b/d Petrobrazi refinery in Ploiesti.
