U.S. crude oil futures increased over 5 dollars on Monday, the biggest one-day increase in the last two years as political situation in Libya is not getting better. The light sweet crude oil contract, which expires on Tuesday, increased by more than 5.10 dollars, registering an intraday high level of 91.30 dollars, the highest in the last two weeks.

U.S. crude oil futures traded lower on Friday. In London, April Brent crude shed 7 cents to 102.52 dollars, while NYMEX April crude added 87 cents to 89.71 dollars setting a Brent’s premium against U.S crude at 12.81 dollars from 13.75 dollars on Thursday.

U.S. crude futures rose for a second day in line on Thursday, as civil protests keep up and could have a negative impact for oil producers and cause supply perturbations. Crude for March delivery ended 1.67 percent up at 86.36 dollars a barrel on the NYMEX market.

U.S. crude added 67 cents to 84.99 dollars after three consecutive days of losses, while Brent gained a high of up 104.52 dollars a barrel but closing the trading session registering an increase of 2.14 dollars to 103.78 dollars a barrel, highest closing level since September 2008.
