Europe’s largest electrolyser launched, set to multiply capacity tenfold by 2024

Germany’s largest refinery hosts the largest electrolyser of its kind in Europe, built by Shell and the EU. The Anglo-Dutch oil major is already looking towards building an electrolyser ten times larger by 2024 with the aim of supplying German industry with green hydrogen.

Lukoil and BP eye Iraq upstream exit

Ismael said in a video posted to the oil ministry's Facebook page late yesterday that Lukoil has sent him a notification to sell its stake in the 13 bn bl West Qurna 2 field and that BP wanted to pull out of Rumaila, Iraq's single biggest producing field with a capacity of nearly 1.5mn b/d.

Norway's Equinor aims to triple UK hydrogen production capacity

Norwegian oil and gas firm Equinor said on Tuesday it had raised its hydrogen production goal in the United Kingdom to 1.8 gigawatts (GW), following a visit of Britain's Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng to Oslo.

Gazprom’s Russian June offtake to fall from May

Russian state-controlled Gazprom's domestic gas production is on track to fall in June from the previous month, but the decline would be the second smallest between May and June since 2011, suggesting that the firm may be producing closer to its capacity than in previous years.
