Brent crude futures declined more than $1 on Thursday, reversing the anterior gains, as traders booked profits. Traders sold Brent after the spread between the international benchmark and the U.S. oil benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) widened to the largest level in six months at $13.60 per barrel.

Ukraine's government has approved on Tuesday a Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) with Chevron Corp. to explore and develop shale-gas deposits in the Lviv region. The objective is to reduce reliance on Russian gas as they thought that the price they pay for Russian gas is too high. The PSA would be signed on November 5 on the sidelines of an international economic forum in Kyiv.

Crude oil prices were mixed on Wednesday, with Brent trading higher, encouraged by disruptions in Libyan oil exports and with U.S. oil trading lower for a second consecutive day on large inventory data.
