Oil rose above $68 a barrel to its highest since December 2014 on Thursday after conflicts in Iran raised concerns about supply risks, with support also coming from OPEC-led production cuts and demand-boosting cold weather in the US. Brent crude ended 23 cents, or 0.3%, at $68.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. crude increased 4 cents to $61.67 and also touched its highest since May 2015.

Oil prices increased on Monday, overcoming declines early in the session, after a North Sea pipeline was closed for repairs and investors concentrated on commodities following an explosion in New York. Brent crude futures ended $1.29, or about 2 percent, higher at $64.69 a barrel.

Oil prices surged by almost 2 percent on Friday, buyout by increasing Chinese crude demand and threats of a strike in Africa's biggest oil exporter. Brent crude closed $1.20, or 1.9 percent, up at $63.40 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude prices rose 1.2% to settle at $57.36 a barrel.
