Enel Green Power has connected its first PV plants in Romania

Italian renewable energy company Enel Green Power SpA (EGP), a subsidiary of the Enel Group has announced it has connected to the grid its first photovoltaic plants in Romania. The two plants of Berceni 1 and Berceni 2, have a combined installed capacity of about 19 MW, are likely to generate almost 29 GWh per year. The plants are located in Prahova County.

Germany will stop subsidizing solar energy by 2018

Environment Minister Peter Altmaier has announced on Monday that the 52GW limit set by the government would be reached in the period 2017-2018, after what Germany will stop subsidizing solar power. Altmaier had struggled to set a maximum amount of solar power capacity above which the government would no longer offer its financial support.

London Array officially opened and running

The world's largest offshore wind farm was officially opened by Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday. The London Array has a total of 175 turbines with a combined capacity of 630 MW and it is capable of powering 500,000 homes per year.

Enel Green power has commissioned two PV plants in southern Italy

Italy's Enel Green Power has announced on Monday it has connected to the grid two photovoltaic (PV) plants in Serre Persane, in the southern Italian region of Campania. The two new photovoltaic plants in Borgo San Lazzaro and Spineto have a total installed capacity of around 21 MW, and it is expected that they will produce something like 30 million kWh per year, supplying 15,000 households and avoiding the emissions of about 14,000 tons of CO2 per year.
