DECC: half a million of UK households have solar installations

According to new data offered by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), at the end of October something like 478,431 homes across the UK have solar installations, which represents a combined peak capacity of about 1.3 GW, which makes domestic solar the largest sub-sector of the solar market.

China fixed a new solar target for 2015

China has expanded its distributed solar capacity target to 20 GW by 2015. China is set to lead the greatest uptake of solar, with plans to install more than 2GW of photovoltaic (PV) by the end of 2013. It is expected that in 2014 PV installations will rise by 17%, increasing from 15% in 2012 and 13% in 2013. The year 2014 will bring the highest rate of growth since the 35% increase in 2011.
