Britain opens nuclear fuel fund with aim to cut reliance on Russia
Britain said on Monday its 75-million-pound ($90.5 million) fund aimed at helping boost domestic production of nuclear fuel for power plants and cutting reliance on Russian uranium supplies was now open for applications.

US government to investigate uranium imports
At the request of two domestic uranium producers, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has launched an investigation into whether "the present quantity and circumstances" of uranium imports threatens national security. However, the US nuclear energy industry has warned that a suggested quota on imports would have a significant financial impact on the country's reactor operators.

Kazakhstan starts nuclear fuel deliveries to Brazil
Kazakhstan's National Atomic Company, Kazatomprom delivered its first natural uranium concentrates after it won the bid for supplies to Brazil's state enterprise Industrias Nucleares do Brazil (INB), Kazatomprom announced on Wednesday.

Urenco inks Ukrainian agreement
Urenco, manufacturer of enriched uranium for the nuclear power utilities worldwide, should supply uranium enrichment to Ukraine under an agreement inked last week by the country's national nuclear firm Energoatom and the enrichment company possessed by Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.
