Crude oil prices rose slightly yesterday, with markets feeling uncertain due to worries about the potential escalation of a broader conflict in the Middle East after the deadly blast at Gaza hospital. As a result, Brent crude edged 0.3% higher at $89.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude remained unchanged at $86.66 a barrel.

Daily (13.12.2017): European power prices hit contract peaks on Tuesday, after a blast at an Austrian gas hub
Oil prices declined sharply on Tuesday, as traders took profits after prices increased tto a two-year peak on an unscheduled closure of the pipeline that carries the largest North Sea crude oil grade. Brent crude settled down $1.35, or 2.1 percent, at $63.34 a barrel. U.S. crude ended at $57.14 a barrel, or 1.5 percent lower.

Russia: Gazprom Neft purchases licence to develop the Novosamarskoye field, Orenburg Oblast
Gazprom Neft has purchased a subsoil usage license issued by the Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency for the Novosamarskoye field in the Orenburg Oblast. The license, for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, is valid until 5 May 2037. The total area of the licensed block is 26.56 square kilometers.
