Ofgem to upgrade the national gas and power grids

UK energy regulator Ofgem announced on Monday that it has allocated about 24.2 billion pounds to the improvements of the national gas and power grids. This move will add an average of about 12 pounds to annual household energy bills for the next eight years to come.

Russia to build two new reactors in China

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, signed a protocol, on Thursday, for the construction of what will be the third and fourth reactors at the Tianwan nuclear power plant, and discussed also the possibility of building floating nuclear power plants.
