BP has decided to acquire 10 percent of Eni's Shorouk concession offshore Egypt, which comprises the giant Zohr gas field, for $375 million, joining other oil majors in raising bets on the developing gas market.

Egypt: Zohr gas field will produce 1 billion cubic feet per day by end-2017
Egypt has settled with Italy's Eni to start production of 1 billion cubic feet per day of gas at the Zohr gas field, the largest in the Mediterranean, by the end of 2017, according to the oil minister Tarek El Molla on Tuesday.

Italy’s Eni to spend $4 bln on first phase of Zohr gas field in Egypt
Italian energy major Eni has invested $4 billion in the development of the first phase of Egypt's giant offshore Mediterranean gas field, Zohr, comprising the drilling of four wells, according to an Egyptian official.
