Daily (16.02.2017): NBP spot gas gets support from unplanned Norwegian outages

Crude oil prices posted a slight decline on Wednesday in a volatile trade, dragged down by a record high in U.S. crude and gasoline stockpiles which fed concerns about a supply glut. However, the bearish inventories data were offset by evidence that OPEC and other producers were complying with agreed supply cuts.

India’s solar tariff hits a new record low

In the recently completed 750 MW Rewa Solar Park auction in Madhya Pradesh in India, bids hit a new record low of Rs.3.30 (~$0.494)/kWh (levelized tariff over 25 years), over a rupee lower than the previous low tariff of Rs.4.34 (~$0.065)/kWh, which was registered in the state of Rajasthan in January 2016.

Toshiba to quit its leading role in UK’S Moorside nuclear station

The UK’s plan to build Europe’s largest nuclear power plant could be scrapped after Japan's Toshiba Corp, which is developing the project with France's Engie, admitted it would have to take billions of pounds' worth of write-downs in its nuclear business and said it would scale back its overseas ambitions.
